With Labour Day now behind us and Autumn just around the corner, communities across Toronto are embracing the idea of transition, from restaurant openings to new parks. And while our editorial team works to keep you up to date with all the news about Toronto's urban development, no one is better at spotting changes on the ground than our neighbours themselves!

The UT Forum provides residents and visitors alike with an excellent outlet for discussion and debate about the latest buildings proposals, the future of public transit, all things design and architecture, and of course all of the overdue updates to Toronto's bike infrastructureBut not everything happens at the macro-level. Is your neighbourhood reeling from the loss of a beloved coffee shop? Thrilled about a planned pedestrian street or new bicycle rack? UT's Neighbourhood Node Forum provides Torontonians with a space for street-level observations.

Over 140 neighbourhood-specific threads keep us up to date with the latest from your eyes on the street. Just this week, Riverdale residents spotted a not yet open café on The Danforth, Village Pie, and Church & Wellesley Village contributors noted that the much-loved Bar Volo will be moving to the northwest corner of Church and Dundonald some point soon.

A post in the Distillery District thread reminds neighbours that Mill Street construction will start next week, to last until the end of June 2017. The first phase of construction will involve updates to an existing water main and road reconstruction, from Parliament Street to east of Trinity Street. The project's second phase brings exciting street-scaping work, including sidewalk widening, tree planting, curb bumpouts and radii changes to corners.

The Moss Park / Queen & Sherbourne thread is buzzing with heated debate over the the consequences of gentrification and the meaning of inclusivity. A new development proposed in the area will transform the John Innes community centre and Moss Park, leading residents to question the fate of the homeless population in the park and the limits of gentrification. As always, the St. Lawrence quarter is abuzz with changes: the closing of Europe Bound and Hero Burger on Front Street, Fionn McCools on The Esplanade, and the near-completion of Berczy Park

That's all for this week's round-up from the Neighbourhood Node, but there are plenty more discussions to tune in to on any one of the 143 neighbourhood threads, which you can find here! Don't see your neighbourhood? Members with at least 20 posts can create new threads. If you're not a member but want to weigh in on the debate, head here to sign up for the Forum. C'mon, it's Toronto, we know you have something to say!
