With construction slated to begin next month, Cityzen and Fernbrook's Tower at Pier 27 will soon bring a new architectural landmark to Toronto's waterfront. The 35-storey, architectsAlliance-designed condominium tower is set to rise to the immediate north of the west-most building of the recently completed Waterlink at Pier 27 development. "The Tower" features a playful spin on the rectilinear condo tower typology in the form of a jagged, sawtooth balcony aesthetic. We have already had a taste of the project's architecture through renderings and a rundown of the scale model at the Pier 27 presentation centre, but today we head into the presentation centre's model suite.

Tower at Pier 27's model suite is a two-bedroom layout featuring a combined kitchen/living/dining area. Entering the suite, guests are greeted by a neutral palette and natural finishes including stone and wood.

The suite's kitchen features black wood finish cabinetry with under-lighting, integrated stainless steel appliances, as well as stone countertops and an simple yet elegant backsplash of hexagonal white ceramic tiles.

The suite's main living area shows off the development's floor-to-ceiling glazing, with a mockup of city views facing to the north and northwest. Stone tables and subdued wall art complement the space's muted colour palette.

Flanking the main living area on either side, the suite's two bedrooms strengthen the toned-down aesthetic, one bedroom featuring subtle variations of tone and texture to emphasize luxury in place of colour, while the other employs greater contrast to add more energy.

The model suite also features two bathrooms; a master ensuite with a shower/tub, and another with a glass-enclosed shower. Each of the bathrooms boast marble floors and countertops, and wood finishes for cabinetry.

Residents of the completed development will have access to a number of amenity spaces, as well as a new public park planned to the immediate west of the site, fronting the Yonge Street Slip.

The project's 336 condominium units were over 75% sold out as of the end of July. Additional information and renderings can be found in the project's dataBase file, linked below.
