We have been following SAMM Developments' intensification plans for the Delta Toronto East Hotel site at Kennedy Road and the 401 in Scarborough. Dubbed 'The Kennedys', the development on Village Green Square will add twin 32-storey condo towers and one 40-storey condo to the site while expanding the hotel. Adding to the information already available on the major Page + Steele / IBI Group-designed development on the east side of Toronto, the latest rendering to be released is giving us our first glimpse of The Kennedys' suite interiors.

The rendering builds upon the design language established by Tomas Pearce Interior Design at the project's on-site presentation centre. Depicting contrasting dark and light toned finishes, the first interior rendering for The Kennedys shows a unit with one of the twin towers' rounded southwest corners, seen above in the curved living room wall of floor-to-ceiling glazing.

The design language being employed on the project's interiors was outlined earlier this year at a presentation centre event with Tomas Pearce principal Melandro Quilatan and senior designer Brian M. Woodrow. Quilatan identified Chanel's luxury branding as the design inspiration for The Kennedys, saying that the contrasting black and white took hold during the initial design concept phase.

Comparing the suite interior rendering from above with a kitchen vignette from the presentation centre, below, fills out the options being offered. While you can choose clean white or dramatic black as the dominant tone, the vignette and rendering show a family of features including stainless steel appliances, with refrigerators hidden in the integrated cabinetry.
