Construction is well underway for the second grouping of condominium towers in ELAD Canada's Emerald City community at Don Mills and Sheppard. Immediately south of the first three phases, the bulk-excavated site of the next three WZMH Architects-designed towers is already a hive of activity. Located at the west end of the site along Don Mills, work on The Colours of Emerald City has recently risen above grade, while the excavation for both second phase Fifth on the Park at the southeast side of the site and the recently-announced The Park Club at the northeast corner of the site is complete.
Though all the ground that needs to be broken has already gone and foundation work is now in progress, a recent ceremony celebrated the official start of construction for Fifth on the Park. Representatives of the developer and the broker were on hand for the event, including Baker Real Estate President and CEO Barbara Lawlor; Emerald City Developments’ Executive Vice President of Business Development & Marketing Netanel Ben-Or; Director, Development & Planning, Ori Belavin; Chief Executive Officer, Rafael Lazer; Executive Vice President, Development & Construction Ron Weinstock; and Senior Project Manager at Emerald City, Chris Bessy (shown left to right in the image below).
Fifth on the Park will be a 24-storey tower including a three-storey podium, at the corner of Helen Lu Road and Forest Manor Road. Ground floor retail units will animate the public realm.
An impressive number of amenities will be located in the podium and shared with residents of The Colours of Emerald City. Amongst them will be a lobby lounge, a dining room with kitchen, a WiFi-enabled lounge space, a karaoke and theatre room, and an arcade and games centre, a fitness studio, a swimming pool and hot tub with change rooms and saunas, and an outdoor patio.
Above the podium, the tower will contain 240 condominium units with sizes ranging up to 818 square feet and prices starting from the mid-$200s. Units will offer finishes including wide long-plank laminate flooring, stainless steel kitchen appliances and integrated dishwashers. Ceiling heights will be approximately 9 feet.
Like previous phases of the community, Fifth on the Park will place residents steps from Don Mills subway station on the TTC's Line 4, and a very short drive to the interchange of Highways 401 and 404, making commutes easy for both transit users and motorists.
