Following the late-2015 start of construction at the site of VHL DevelopmentsHaven on the Bluffs in Scarborough's Cliffside neighbourhood, the last several months of work has brought significant change to the site of the new condominium development. The bulk of excavation work for the project's 2-level below-grade parking garage wrapped up in late-May, followed by the installation of a tower crane at the start of June. In the weeks since that last milestone, the foundations of the 11-storey, Master Building Inc.-designed development have begun to take shape.

While removal of excavated soil is still in progress at the south end of the site, below-grade forming has made much progress at the centre and north side of the pit. Over two thirds of columns are now in place for the P2 level, while floor forms and rebar cages are in place at the north end of the site in anticipation of the first concrete pour for the P1 level.

The 2-level below-grade parking garage will contain 268 parking spaces for residents of the building's 259 units. An additional 7 parking spaces will be located at grade. Over the next several weeks, the completion of the P2 level and pouring of the P1 level will prime the site for the start of grade level construction.

The development will add a varied mix of unit types to the area, including 2 bachelor units, 78 one-bedroom units, 152 two-bedroom units, and 27 three+ bedroom units. Replacing a former motel property and 2-storey commercial building at 2229 Kingston Road, Haven on the Bluffs will contribute to the Cliffside Village pedestrian realm with the contribution of 9,343 square feet of street-fronting retail space and generous sidewalk widths.
