Since topping off at 16 storeys in May, installation of the cladding has made quite an impact at the Humber Bay Shores site of Mattamy Homes and the Biddington Group's Riva del Lago. The new Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed condominium development's main design feature is an alternating white and back balcony design above a brick-panelled base, meant to create a dialogue with the similarly detailed neighbouring sister development Lago at the Waterfront.
Charcoal-toned pre-assembled brick panels now cover much of the podium: window installation in their openings will come shortly. Meanwhile, window wall is being installed above, now as high as the 12th floor, with four more levels to go.
The alternating black and white underpainting of balcony slabs continues to progress as well, now completed up to the 13th floor. The view below also reveals how the alternating effect will be grouped into quadrants, with the effect reversing from north to south and west to east. Installation of the balcony rails and glass will follow soon.
The completed Riva del Lago will add 155 new condominium suites to the fast-growing Humber Bay Shores community in South Etobicoke. Residents of Riva will arrive home to a 2-storey lobby space fronting the lake. Along with other amenity spaces in their own building, they will enjoy access to the Lago Club water amenities—including an indoor swimming pool, a hot tub, and saunas—next door in Lago at the Waterfront.
Additional information along with renderings of the project can be found in our dataBase file for Riva del Lago, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion? Check out the associated Forum threads, or leave a comment using the field provided at the bottom of this page.
