In the months since the June 2015 ground breaking ceremony for VANDYK group of companiesThe Craftsman Condominium Residences, much work has been done at the site of the four-storey, SMV Architects-designed condominium community in Mississauga's Clarkson Village area. A recent article on the project covered the prep work for the start of foundation construction, and in the time since, the project has moved on to its shoring phase.

Last month, work began on caisson wall shoring at the north end of the 4.4 acre property. The process will see the installation of 337 one-metre-wide caissons throughout the site, stabilizing the surrounding earth to allow for a safe excavation.

The shoring process is moving at the rate of about 8-12 caissons per day, with drilling work expected to continue until June.

The installation of a soldier pile and lagging shoring system is now underway on the south and west sides of the development as well, with excavation for the project's parking and basement structure expected to make significant progress over the course of the spring.
