Like any art form, architecture is constantly evolving and changing. While earlier generations of architects came of age during movements like Art Deco, International Style, and Postmodernism, the new generation is being embodied by Neomodern and Avant-garde architecture. As new ideas and building mediums push the boundaries of design and height, the newest generation of architects are looking to both the past and the future of design.

On February 3rd, the Ryerson University Master of Architecture class of 2017 will be hosting a symposium at the historic Berkeley Church called 're:practice'. The symposium will feature a panel of emerging architects, with an aim to spark discussion on the changing roles and values of architecture, with questions such as 'What does the future hold for the agents of design?', 'How will architects exercise their roles in identifying and addressing the emerging needs of society?', and 'Is the architect of the future a designer, a leader, an activist or all of the above?'.
