A wealth of housing options are on offer across the vast landmass of the Greater Toronto Area, yet it can still be hard to find just the right combination of features in a new home that suit your particular lifestyle desires. Tall buildings are not everybody's choice, and for many the chance to live close to the ground in a suburban atmosphere is more appealing. As single family homes become more out of reach, townhomes—which use land more efficiently—are becoming the choice for many.

Dunpar HomesTrafalgar Ridge subdivision is one such development in Oakville that we have been following. Now four months after ground was officially broken at the site with a ceremonial sod turning in September 2015, work on Trafalgar Ridge has made significant progress, with forming for many of the houses' foundations now largely complete.

Located on Trafalgar Road between Upper Middle Road and Dundas Street, the project consists of 11 blocks with a total of 112 new homes. Each town features three bedrooms and a den—perfect for families—with sizes ranging between 1,940 and a very spacious 2,800 square feet. Priced from the mid $600,000s to the high $800,000s, each town features two bathrooms including ensuites with his and hers sinks, a powder room, and two-car garages.

Views of the site captured from its northeast corner reveal that foundations are fully formed for blocks A, B, and C along Trafalgar Road, while work proceeds on the remaining blocks to the southwest. With foundations now largely in place, the houses themselves are now primed to take shape over the next several months.

The completed development will put its residents in close proximity to Highway 407 to the north and the QEW/Highway 403 to the south, while public transit users will be just a short bus ride south on Trafalgar Road to Oakville GO station. The area also offers plenty in the way of parks, schools, and retail and restaurants clustered in nearby hubs such as the Oakville Uptown Core to the north, and Oakville Place and Downtown Oakville to the south.
