The site is cleared and the early stages of construction are now underway at ZIGG Condos, the 11-storey building is soon set to begin rising on St. Clair Avenue West. Following the project's ceremonial Hallo'owen groundbreaking, UrbanToronto has kept up with progress at the site, bringing you a series of photo updates from demolition and site clearing last month. Now with construction underway, we take a look at the floorpans of the Madison Homes and Fieldgate Homes project.
Designed by Kirkor Architects Planners, ZIGG's 166 suites will range in size from 500 ft²to 1,796 ft², laid out in one through three-bedroom configurations. In addition to the building's condominium units and penthouse suites, the development will also feature three two-storey townhomes. The 1,796 ft², three-bedroom + den townhomes (below) provide a family-friendly housing option that also helps incorporate the development into the social fabric of the neighbourhood.
In addition to the two-level townhomes, ZIGG's penthouse and "terrace suites" also boast spacious configurations, with a cascade of wide terraces stepping down to give the building its distinctive "ziggurat-like" shape (seen below). Facing away from St. Clair West, these suites are also characterized by fairly generous outdoor space.
Below, a two-bedroom+den, 778 ft² terrace suite features an additional 150 ft² of outdoor space. With a central living/dining area dominating the communal space, both bedrooms—located away from one another at either side of the unit—are positioned next to the unit's two bathrooms, with the master bedroom featuring an ensuite shower.
ZIGG's other suites also feature comparatively spacious layouts, with a large number of two-bedroom units throughout the building. A 797 ft² two-bedroom suite, for example, features a similar layout to the terrace suite above, though with a smaller 38 ft² balcony, bringing the total area to 835 ft² (below).
Residents of the distinctively shaped building will also have access to amenity spaces appointed by interior designers The Design Agency. In addition to a gym and party room, a large rooftop terrace will offer residents an indoor bar and lounge space, as well as outdoor barbecues.
