With the VIP preview opening now in the books and an early-2016 public launch just around the corner, UrbanToronto was recently invited to visit the presentation centre for Mattamy and Biddington's J. Davis House, a new 9-storey, Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed condominium development planned for the east side of Yonge Street, steps north of Davisville.

Designed by the interior design department of Graziani + Corazza Architects, the J. Davis House presentation centre utilizes finishes like marble, wood and white-painted brick. The naturally-lit space, like the project it advertises, blends elements of history and modernity into its design.

The centrepiece of the presentation centre is the scale model of the development, created by Peter McCann Architectural Models Inc., which shows off the massing and design details of the development to potential buyers. A future article focusing on this scale model will dive into the architectural details of J. Davis House.

The project's 191 suites, ranging in size from 295 to 1,650 square feet, and priced from the low $200,000s, are represented in the presentation centre through a suite vignette showing off some of the kitchen and bathroom finishes that will be available.

A selection of samples showing off some of the finishes on offer is also on display.

Floor plans of the building's suites are presented along one side of the space where potential purchasers can review them.

Named in honour of the neighbourhood's namesake and first postmaster, John Davis, J. Davis House is capitalizing on the prestige and vibe of established Davisville Village, and is attracting many end-user buyers hailing from the midtown area. To help showcase the neighbourhood, the presentation centre features multiple screens showing videos of nearby shops, cafes, and other local hotspots. A static display of local landmarks is also prominently featured.
