As Toronto's Six Points neighbourhood continues its rapid development, the Etobicoke community is now in the midst of a large-scale transformation. High-rise projects like The Kip District and Islington Terrace are re-making the community into an increasingly dense and transit-oriented part of the city. While today's taller condominiums are coming to dominate the market, North Star Homes' ConneXion townhomes provide one of the few low-rise entry points into home ownership for first-time buyers.

Designed by TACT Architecture, the 150-unit development at 26 Fieldway Road will add a modest dose of density to the area. The stacked townhouse configuration—and simple brick exterior—is scaled to meet the neighoubrhood's existing low-rise context, while bringing new residential vibrancy to the area. Currently in pre-construction, ConneXion is also specifically catered to give first-time buyers an accessible entry point into the market, with North Star's Worry-Free Program providing an extended down payment deposit structure as well as a number of longer-term financial incentives.

With large down-payments proving an obstacle for some buyers, ConneXion's extended deposit structure allows buyers to space out their payments over a longer period of time, making the initial step into home ownership more accessible. In addition, the Worry-Free Program waives the first year of maintenance fees, taxes, and utilities, making for an easier transition period.

Finally, the program also includes discounts on phone, internet, and cable, as well as a one-year TTC pass, giving residents free transit across the city. With nearby Kipling Station also set to become a major hub for GO Transit and MiWay, the TTC pass underlines the area's increasingly transit-oriented character, which—together with new density—is gradually seeing a more urban community emerge.

ConneXion's home ownership program is notable for providing an accessible entry point to the townhouse market, as an increasing number of first-time homes across Toronto are high-rise condos. For buyers seeking the more spacious, split-level configuration of townhouse living, ConneXion represents one of the more accessible low-rise home-ownership opportunities in the city.
