We are learning more about Fifth on the Park, the fifth residential tower planned for ELAD Canada's master-planned Emerald City community, as the developer releases more information. Rising to the south of the community's existing three towers, the 24-storey condominium tower will feature views over the adjacent Parkway Forest Park, and adjacent to fourth phase  The Colours of Emerald City  which is currently being excavated.

Len Abelman, principal at designer WZMH Architects, stated “Fifth on the Park is situated on the new curved street that connects Parkway Forest to Don Mills Road in the master plan", referring to the recently dedicated Helen Lu Road. "Rather than totally individual buildings, we have designed unique exteriors from a similar palette of materials that relate to each other. They vary in heights to form a gateway from Don Mills. In this section of the community, the first condominium, The Colours of Emerald City, is approximately 13 storeys. Fifth on the Park will be approximately 24 storeys, rising from a currently proposed three-storey podium.”

The site of the development is on a sloping grade, resulting in a main lobby and drop-off area which are a full floor higher than the site's Don Mills Road frontage. “The lower level links to The Colours of Emerald City shared amenities and is still infused with some natural light because it is still slightly above the adjacent street level”, explained Abelman. The tower's south face will respond to the new street, curving along its frontage. The other facades will be primarily rectilinear, utilizing two different shades of glazing to achieve some variety in the project's exterior.

The tower will rise from a podium clad in brick and featuring punched windows. Above the podium, a green roof will preserve views of residents while also adding to the building's energy efficiency. “There will be retail along the podium edge as well,” explained Abelman. “Combined with trees, plantings, signage and storefronts, this building will animate the streetscape and surrounding community.”

Residents of the development will enjoy a selection of amenities featuring interiors by II BY IV DESIGN, including a lounge and dining room, an outdoor patio with outdoor dining area, a karaoke/theatre room, an indoor pool, hot tub, His and Hers change rooms with saunas, a yoga room, and a fitness room.
