The German-based luxury real estate company Engel & Völkers has opened its first Toronto office, which comes as part of an ambitious Canada-wide expansion that has also recently seen franchises launched in Victoria, Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver Island, as well as Collingwood.

Known for catering to a large international network of high-end investors, Engel & Völkers' ambitious entry into the Canadian market evidences strong worldwide demand for luxury properties across the country. According to Anthony Hitt, CEO of Engel & Völkers North America, the company "offers a renowned level of exclusivity and international platform which will benefit and serve the comprehensive needs of Toronto's real estate buyers and sellers."

The Engels & Völkers Toronto Uptown brokerage is owned by Ron Amendola, who will work alongside 20 real estate advisors with expertise in the Toronto premium real estate market.

As the company continues to expand into new markets across the country, Canadian luxury real estate is coming closer to the global forefront. "International buyers come to Canada from many countries, including the United States, Iran China, Singapore, Russia, India, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands," said Amendola, evidencing the growing number of international buyers taking an interest in the Canadian real estate market.
