Last week's dazzling opening ceremony washed away much of the apathy felt in Toronto prior to the start of the Pan Am Games. The highlight of the event for many was the display of pyrotechnics launched from the CN Tower, which could be seen from all over the city, though many more fireworks displayed will be featured as part of PANAMANIA, a celebration of the ongoing games. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Ben Roffelsen, we are shown one of the nightly fireworks displays at Nathan Phillips Square, including the new illuminated "TORONTO" sign that was recently installed in the square.
