The Greater Toronto Area's unquenchable thirst for new housing manifests itself differently in different areas of the GTA, with a trend toward towers closer in, townhomes in shoulder areas, and single family homes on the edges. Condominium living has become increasingly popular over the years as maintenance issues are taken care of for owners, but not everyone wants to live up in the air. For those people, townhome condos are the way to go, and in growing Oakville, a new development is now an option for them.
Construction work will soon begin on a new subdivision of townhouse homes on Trafalgar Road between Upper Middle Road and Dundas Street, called Trafalgar Ridge by Dunpar Homes. The development will add 112 new homes to the area, offering 3 bedrooms and two-car garages, with sizes from 1,940 up to 2,800 square feet, and prices ranging from $619,990 to $869,990.
The project will be situated just a 10 minute drive from either Highway 407 to the north of it, or the QEW/Highway 403 to the south, allowing easy commutes in and out of the city. For those taking public transit, Oakville GO station is just a short bus ride south on Trafalgar Road.
Trafalgar Ridge will rise in an area of Oakville offering plenty of schools, parks, retail, and restaurants. Sheridan College's main Oakville campus is just a couple blocks to the south. All the conveniences of Oakville Uptown core shopping plazas are located a short drive north, and within walking distance for many. To the south is Oakville Place, while Oakville's very charming Downtown with its main street shopping and dining is just ten minutes by car.
Of the 112 towns in Dunpar's Trafalgar Ridge development, 32 have been released so far, and of those, 28 have already sold. As revealed by a Google Street View image captured back in May, the site has been cleared and prepped for construction, which is scheduled to start in September .
