Last night, residents across the city got a preview of the striking light fixture at Canderel's Aura at College Park. The vertical configuration of LED lights was prominent against the night sky, standing as one of the brightest focal points of the city's increasingly luminous skyline.

Though according to Riz Dhanji of Canderel, the date when the LED lights will become a permanent fixture of Aura's nighttime exterior has not yet been set, the recent test—in which the entire display was lit up for the first time—provided the most comprehensive preview of what to expect. In the summer night, the jagged contour of white, vertical LEDs, appeared to descend the roof of the Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed 78-storey tower like glowing icicles.

We will keep you updated on the future of Aura's ambitious light fixture as plans for the permanent nighttime display are finalized. In the meantime, additional information can be found in Aura's dataBase file, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion or see more of the photos?
