55% of CapitaGreen's facade is covered in living wall of vegetation, an innovative approach which caught the jury's eye, and helped garner the structure's prized position in this year's contest.

Bosco Verticale's "living facade," which is reported to host an impressive variety of 90 different species of tree, was enough to gain the structure its place among the other regional winners.

Middle East & Africa - Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower, Abu Dhabi, UAE

The jury took special notice of the mirage-like effect provided by the Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower's unique, undulating cladding, a playful effect which helps place the impressive structure within its surrounding, desert setting.
