In the past couple of years the Yonge and Eglinton area has seen the rapid rise of new developments, amongst the busiest areas for this activity in the GTA. Eglinton east of Yonge is home to Madison Homes' latest project, The Madison, located on the south side between Dunfield and Lillian. Designed by Kirkor Architects, The Madison consists of two towers, of 32 and 36 storeys, that are connected by an eight storey podium which will host a 40,000 square-foot Loblaws supermarket on the second floor and more retail space at ground level.

At the time of our last update in late March, The Madison was progressing at a steady pace. Cladding installation was progressing, with a large portion of the podium being covered in a dark matte precast concrete. A window wall and spandrel cladding combination could be seen growing on the south and east sides of the podium.

Glazing installation has now come to substantially cover the podium while it is also starting to be seen on the lower floors of both towers, which have grown at the rate of about one floor per week to ten or so floors. Add in the podium, and The Madison is generally half way to its final height.

Upon its completion The Madison will provide residents a variety of both indoor and outdoor amenities. One of the amenities will be a calming zen styled outdoor garden located atop the podium on the 8th floor which will include a calming water feature at its centre. Indoor amenities for The Madison will be located on the fourth floor where residents can enjoy a salt water lap pool, a hot tub off the pool deck, a two storey gym overlooking Eglinton Avenue, a yoga room, a computer/meeting room, a movie theatre, a dining room with adjoining pantry and double-sided fireplace, and a common room/party room with equipped with TVs, WiFi access, card table, pool table, and a wet bar area.
