Want to get a better idea of what the future holds for Toronto's streets and skyline? Sure you do, that's what UrbanToronto.ca is all about, and in that light we are one of the sponsors of a free exhibit all about that coming to Metro Hall from June 1 to 5.

Toronto of the Future will showcase major architectural scale models, illustrations, renderings, and virtual presentations from top architects, contractors, developers and government agencies, including the City Planning Division of the City of Toronto. "Toronto is leading all cities in the Western Hemisphere with respect to the unprecedented scale of urbanization, redevelopment and renewal in this metropolitan area," said Chief Planner, and official host of the event, Jennifer Keesmaat. "The trend that we are experiencing is expected to be a permanent characteristic in the evolution of our city. As a result, the timing is excellent to present Toronto of the Future, said Keesmaat.

The exhibit will launch with an official opening ceremony and reception taking place in the rotunda of Metro Hall on Monday June 1 at 6:00 p.m., that will be attended by real estate and business industry leaders as well as government representatives. The opening ceremony will include remarks and a ribbon cutting ceremony, to be followed by a cocktail reception hosted by Toronto radio personality Howard Glassman.

The opening ceremony and reception will be the only elements of the event where attendees will require tickets, unlike the actual exhibition, which will be open to the public free of charge for the first five days of June.

Toronto of the Future is being supported by Title Sponsors Oxford Properties Group and Brookfield Canada Office Properties, while NAIOP Greater Toronto will act on behalf of the development industry as the exhibit’s Principal Supporting Association.
