Reader submitted content is a big part of making UrbanToronto such a visually appealing news source, and our daily Photo of the Day selections are one of the many ways we highlight Toronto's up-and-coming urban photographers. The Photo of the Day feature has become rather popular, and to show off some of the best user submitted content, we are now kicking off a Photo of the Month feature, where we pick the highest rated Photo of the Day selection of the last 30-or-so days, and a runner up. Selections will be chosen based on the combined Facebook shares and Twitter re-tweets they racked up the first time they were featured.

The top rated Photo of the Day for the month of March was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Ronaldo Wanyou. This shot takes a slightly different approach on the classic view of the Allen Lambert Galleria at Brookfield Place, capturing the experience of entering the grand atrium from the retail levels below.

Our runner up for the month of March, falling just a few points shy of our Photo of the Month, was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Oscar Flores. Captured in the heart of Toronto's Financial District, this worm's-eye view shot shows skyscrapers disappearing into a sea of fog. This Photo of the Day selection actually made rounds on Twitter after being mistakenly shared by a New York photo blog as a shot of the Big Apple, proving why film companies turn to our city as an NYC stand-in time and time again.
