The City of Mississauga and Metrolinx are making progress on two bus-related transit projects in the city to the west of Toronto. The City of Mississauga is progressing work on the second phase of its Mississauga transitway towards completion in 2016, while Metrolinx/GO Transit is continuing to work on its new Square One GO Bus Terminal.

GO Transit is building a proper building for one of its busiest bus transfer hubs, Square One. The terminal will include a large, green feature wall facing the corner of Rathburn Road and Duke of York Boulevard, and will provide a ticket sales space and waiting area for passengers awaiting a GO bus to one of several destinations around the GTA offered from this location.

Construction on the Mississauga transitway is also progressing, with work nearing completion on the multiple bridge structures required for the project. Following the opening of the first phase in November 2014, the second phase will extend the transitway both east and west. The west portion to Erin Mills Parkway and Winston Churchill Boulevard is being built by GO Transit and will open in 2016.

The City of Mississauga is building the east portion, which will run from the current terminus at Dixie Road to the Renforth Gateway station near the 427. Four stations will open on this section in 2016, while the Renforth Gateway station, being built by GO Transit, will open in 2017.

The architecture of the stations will be similar to the already opened stations, featuring large lightly coloured wood walls, and angled roof structures.  The completion of this section of the transitway will significantly improve transit times to destinations such as Kipling subway station and Pearson Airport for Mississauga residents.
