Last month we announced the launch of Camrost-Felcorp's Blue Diamond at Imperial Plaza, a new 26-storey tower containing 226 condominium units, to rise next to the developer's condo conversion of Imperial Plaza, now under-construction on St. Clair a short distance east of Avenue Road. The glass and metal-clad Blue Diamond features a design by Diamond Schmitt Architects, uniquely incorporating an historic church, to be overseen by heritage specialists ERA Architects

The tower will rise from behind the partially retained 1913 Gothic style former Deer Park United Church at St. Clair West and Foxbar Road. The more architecturally significant northern portion of the church will be spared and incorporated, with a portion of the sanctuary roof to be removed, creating an outdoor courtyard with trees and ample seating. A glass wall will seal off the remaining portion of the former church and provide a transition between the historic and modern elements of the development.

Blue Diamond's garden, designed by Janet Rosenberg + Studio, will be open to the public. To the south of it, the condominium's ground level will include a two-level lobby, while six 3-storey townhouses will face onto Foxbar Road to the south of the tower.

Residents of the development will have access to a wide selection of common amenity areas, including a ground floor library and lounge, as well as other areas including a prep kitchen, a games / media lounge, dining room, reception room, and a sculpture garden. There will also be two hospitality suites, available for guests on a fee-for-use basis.

Residents will also have access to the Imperial Club at neighbouring Imperial Plaza, which will include an indoor pool and whirlpool spa, men’s and women’s change rooms with showers, day lockers and steam room, a lounge overlooking the pool, and two squash courts with viewing area. The Imperial Club also houses a fitness auditorium with circuit training and cardio equipment, a Yoga/Pilates studio, an aerobics/private training room, a multipurpose games room and lounge, two screening rooms, a media lounge, two acoustically isolated unequipped sound studio rooms, a “Green Room” and a golf simulator room. Imperial Plaza will also be home to a high-end grocery convenience store and a wine store.
