Most people will recognize today's Photo of the Day as the Hockey Hall of Fame, a shrine for Canada's favourite sport, but before the historic building at Yonge and Front served as a hockey institution its original use was as a Bank of Montreal branch. Built between 1885 and 1886, the ornate Beaux Arts style building is still considered one of Toronto's architectural gems from that era, and it is clear why in today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Ben Roffelsen.
