Master-planned communities make up a good percentage of the new development projects reshaping our city, revitalizing expansive tracts of land with the injection of permanent residents and new businesses. In the 'Six Points' area of Etobicoke near Kipling and Dundas, a former Canadian Tire location and its surrounding parking lot is one of the next major plots of land to be redeveloped into a master-planned community. Owned by Concert Properties, this large site will soon be transformed with the addition of five new Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed buildings, to be called The Kip District.

Industry professionals are taking notice of the proposed master-planned community, and Concert Properties was recently recognized for their sales and marketing efforts with multiple Gold and Silver awards at the National Association of Homebuilders' Annual National Sales and Marketing Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Nationals is the largest competition of its kind on the continent, often drawing more than 800 entries and over 500 attendees.

The Kip District was the winner in numerous categories at the awards, including Gold at The National’s International Builders Show in three categories: Best Presentation Centre, Best Brochure for a High Rise Community and Master Planned Community of the Year (High Rise). The Kip District also won Silver in four additional categories: Best Logo, Best Website for a Community, Best TV Commercial (broadcast or YouTube) and Best Signage.
