Of the many active development projects in the Yonge and Eglinton area of Midtown Toronto, the most recent to start construction is Tridel and Beaux Properties' 101 Erskine. Representatives from both Tridel and Beaux Properties gathered for a November 2014 event to officially kick off construction of the new CS&P Architects-designed 32-storey condominium tower on Erskine Avenue, just east of Yonge Street.

Tridel’s President, Leo Del Zotto spoke about the significance of the event.

“The start of construction marks a critical turning point in the life of a new residential development, but maybe not for the obvious reasons. While it appears to mark the start of the development, it is merely the tip of the iceberg in the lifecycle of a new condominium project. Of course to the purchaser, breaking ground is the most obvious sign of progress and an indication that their move in date is on the horizon, but for Tridel and Beaux, we recognize that the day our construction trades break ground actually signifies that the majority of our development work is now complete.”

Jason Birnboim, President of Beaux Properties, spoke about what this event means for purchasers in the development, and about the company's partnership with industry heavyweight Tridel.

“The start of construction at 101 Erskine is a special event for our purchasers, and for the North Toronto community. But 101 Erskine and the milestones we’ve achieved with Tridel is also special for Beaux. While we have been leaders in the Canadian real estate sector for decades, 101 Erskine is our first residential development in Toronto. We have consistently identified and pursued distinct real estate opportunities and this development continues to prove itself to be one of the most special in our portfolio.”
