Work on Canderel's YC Condos officially got under way last month with a ceremonial groundbreaking marking the start of demolition on the two-storey commercial building at 454-468 Yonge Street. In the weeks since then, demolition of the building has made significant progress, with much of it now reduced to rubble.

Images submitted to our YC Condos Projects & Construction Forum thread by contributor Benito show that the over a third of the building has since been taken down. Only the east, west and south frontages of the building remain while the north face and a large central portion are gone.

Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, YC Condos will rise over 60 storeys above Yonge Street, adding 600 residential units to the block just north of College Street. Construction of the development is currently slated for completion in October of 2017.
