Toronto's trendy King West neighbourhood is the site of much growth these days, as several new condominium developments add even more life to this already thriving area. Much of this development is occurring on Adelaide Street West, just north of King, including the side-by-side construction sites for Plaza's Musée Condos and Harhay's oneeleven Condos.

In the image above, taken from the southeast corner of the Musée site, we can see that plenty of work has been done since our last update in October, when excavation of the site was just wrapping up. In the time since, excavation has been completed and work has begun on the construction of the building's below grade levels.

At the centre of the image below, we can see the first signs of the building's elevator core beginning to take shape at the bottom of the pit, along with columns for the lowest level of the building's parking garage. On the west side of the Musée site, work is much further along, and concrete now sits just one level below grade.

Construction at the adjacent oneeleven Condos site to the west has also reached a milestone since our last update, with the site reaching grade. With the below-grade levels complete, work will now commence on the first level of the oneeleven's five-storey podium.

The Quadrangle Architects-designed Musée will rise to a height of 17 storeys, and will feature a masonry cladding on the bottom seven floors, after which, the building will step back for the last 10 floors and will be finished in a light-toned precast cladding. When complete, Musée will feature a ground level open-to-the-elements galleria which will provide a mid-block connection to a new, 8,000 square-foot park to the south.

Next door, Harhay's oneeleven will also rise to a height of 17 storeys, and bring 255 condominium units to the corner of Bathurst and Adelaide. oneeleven will sport a modern design by Core Architects featuring multiple green-edged terraces, recesses, and projecting volumes.
