Named after York University's founding president Murray G. Ross, the Ross Humanities and Social Sciences Building opened in 1970. It remains one of the most prominent examples of Brutalist architecture at York University, one of many educational institutions to make frequent use of the raw architectural style from the 1960s to 1980s. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Vik Pahwa, we are given a view of the imposing entrance for the Ross Humanities and Social Sciences Building.
