Opened in 1996, Downsview Station is the current terminus of the western leg of the TTC's Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina). Designed by Adamson Associates Architects and Stevens Group Architects, the station evokes the feeling of an aircraft hangar, a nod to the nearby Downsview Park - which was once home to an active RCAF installation. The station will be renamed 'Sheppard West' in the coming years, once the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension is completed. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Ben Roffelsen, we are given a view of the inside of the station.
