Yesterday we took you inside of Plaza's Ivory on Adelaide for a tour of the 22-storey Hariri Pontarini Architects-designed condominium tower, and today we return to the top of the building to take in some of the great Toronto views that residents of the upper floors will be treated to upon moving in to their suites.
West facing residents at Ivory will have an impressive view of the Downtown skyline, and like many high-floor views, the beauty is in the details. From here, the cranes on the L Tower and Bay Adelaide East mark new additions to the skyline.
Zooming in on the west-facing view, there is plenty to look at, including views of nearby Post House Condos, now closing in on completion.
Just to the south that there's the impressive greensapce at St. James Park, which is currently sporting some dazzling Fall colours.
Equally impressive are the views to the north and northwest. In the image below, we can see the growing collection of high-rises stretching from Queen Street to north of Bloor Street… with one particular standout.
In the image above, the 78-storey Aura at College Park can easily be seen in the centre of the photo, standing much higher than the surrounding cluster of high-rise towers. Below, we give you a closer look at how this skyscraping development interacts with its surroundings at Yonge and Gerrard.
Zooming in to the north, several cranes can be seen working away on the countless new developments under construction. In the left foreground, Pace Condos can be seen rising into the skyline, while projects like U Condos, FIVE Condos, Nicholas Residences and One Bloor East can be seen lining the background.
Views to the northeast cover the regenerating Regent Park area, as well as neighbouring high-rise community, Moss Park.
In the image above, the warm brick finish of Moss Park's apartment towers is matched up perfectly with some brilliant fall colours, while in the image below, the modern One Park Place towers stand as the new centrepiece in a revitalized Regent Park.
To the east currently, the former industrial and low-rise residential land uses found here have kept sightlines open all the way to the Scarborough Bluffs. Things are changing, however, and the east views will become northeast and southeast views over the next couple of years as Ivory condo residents will be looking around Axiom condos, which will be the next project to intensify this rapidly transforming area.
In the image above, the only other high-rise condominium towers visible are The Gooderham and Clear Spirit, visible at the right hand side of the photo. These recent condominium towers are located in the nearby Distillery District. Let's take a closer look...
Residents with south-facing views at Ivory have a great vantage point over Toronto Harbour and King Street East. While the surrounding cityscape is certain to dramatically transform in the coming years, Ivory's position at the head of Princess Street means that south facing views will be protected for the foreseeable future, barring any major changes to the local street grid.
We caught some of these vistas on video too, and at the end, we'll bring back down a little closer to ground level.
