It only been three weeks since we last visited the site of Concert Properties88 Scott, when the first tower crane was raised into place, marking the first upward construction for the 58-storey Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed condominium tower after a notably speedy excavation. The impressive progress keeps on coming, as another tower crane was raised this past weekend over the western end of the Scott and Wellington construction site in Toronto's core.

As was the case with last month's crane installation, sections arrived early in the day via flatbed truck. Unlike the previous installation, a temporary crane was not necessary, as the existing tower crane was in postion to guide the crane sections into the pit below.

As is the case with many large developments recently built around Toronto, the second crane is being used alongside the existing crane to construct the below-grade and podium levels, which occupy the entire footprint of the large site. After construction has moved above the podium and on to the tower floors, only one crane will be needed to continue the tower section.

Now that both cranes are in place, construction can progress on the project's below grade floors, which will serve as parking and utility space for the 525 condominium units to rise above.
