Construction work on Morguard's The Heathview is wrapping up, with the final exterior touches currently being applied to the south tower of the Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed, twin-tower, luxury rental development on Tweedsmuir Avenue, between St. Clair and Heath Street in Forest Hill.

The further-along 350-unit north tower is already partially occupied, with suites up to the 27th floor of the 30-storey tower already home to hundreds of residents. The final complement of initial Heathview residents are soon to move in, as the north tower's 28th and 29th floors are gearing up to be released on December 1st, to be closely followed by the release of the tower's 30th floor penthouse suite above.

Next month will also mark the start of leasing for The Heathview's 250-unit south tower. The lease-up, which begins in December, will precede occupancy for the first 14 floors, which is expected to commence during the first quarter of 2015.

All of the south tower's 30 floors will be released at once, and prospective tenants will be able to sign leases for a suite on any of the 30 floors. Move ins for the south tower are expected to continue through 2015.

The new rental development is seeking LEED Gold certification, and many different energy efficiency features are being employed to ensure that The Heathview is an energy efficient development. Some of the many features being used to make this development 'green' include green roofs, rainwater collection for landscape irrigation, and the recycling of 75% of the waste from the demolition of the apartment buildings which were torn down in 2010 to make way for the project.
