In Toronto's Entertainment District, the Richmond Street corridor is quickly becoming one of our most intensely urban streets as several new projects are being constructed. Making a big impact to the area now is Studio on Richmond by Aspen Ridge HomesStudio on Richmond is a two-phase condominium project featuring two distinct condominium towers, Studio1 and Studio2 coming in at 31 and 41 storeys respectively. The whole project is designed by Quadrangle Architects, which both will feature a glass facade. Both towers are expressed as a series of boxes stacked one on top of another, to create a pair of simple but visually striking towers on our skyline.

The first tower Studio1 has recently topped off at 31 storeys, but we are just starting to get an idea how the completed tower will look on our skyline as cladding has only made it to the top of the first tower box.

Studio1's podium is closer to complete, clad in a light beige precast with occasional brightly coloured spandrel panels facing Richmond Street. Highlighting the pedestrian realm of the building, this area will be home to OCAD University's new gallery space once the project is complete. The colourful glass spandrel pieces will reappear higher on Studio1.

Studio2 is under construction at the southwest corner of the site at Nelson and Duncan Streets. It is only at 7 storeys tall at the moment, but will rise to 41-storeys when complete. The whole development is expected to be complete in late 2015. Studio2 peeks out below between adjacent Entertainment District buildings. Studio1 appears in the background.

Studio1 and Studio2 will have 762 luxury condominium units throughout the two towers and podiums, adding more a thousand new residents to this entertainment and business-focused neighbourhood. Units range from studio apartments to one and two bedroom units.
