New commercial and residential developments continue to stitch in the tears in our city's urban fabric, and we have been highlighting this growth with a weekly feature called Throwback Thursday. In this week's edition, we take you to Richmond Street, just west of Sherbourne, for a look at some of the changes this intersection has seen in the last decade. Back on May 2, 2003, construction was well under way for Space Lofts, a condominium development at 255 Richmond Street East.

Over 11 years later, a return to the same spot gives us a radically altered view. Space Lofts is complete, and the backdrop of the downtown skyline has grown vastly. In the image below, we can see lots of new additions, including Vu Condos, the completed Bay Adelaide West tower and its under-construction sibling to the east, as well as the spire and quarter-onion dome of the Trump International Hotel and Tower peeking out from the background.

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto!
