We have been keeping a close eye on the construction of Morguard's The Heathview, and in the time since our last visit one month ago, much more work has been done on the twin 30-storey, Page and Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed luxury rental towers in Forest Hill. The project hit a major milestone this month, with the removal of the south tower's crane, following on the disassembly of the north tower's crane in June.

Glazing now reaches the crown of the north tower, while the south tower follows closely behind. Aside from units covered by the hoist and a few panels towards the top of the building, the north tower is almost fully clad. More work is left to do on the exterior of the south tower, which should be fully sealed off from the elements within the next couple of months.

The first occupants for the north tower started to move in early last month, and the second round of occupancy is expected to commence next month. The final round of move-ins for the north tower are currently slated for October, while occupancy for the south tower is expected to take place in the months that follow.

The Heathview is comprised of 600 rental units, 146 of which are being designated as replacement rental units. This is being done to meet city regulations, which mandate the replacement of rental units, like the former rental apartment buildings designed by the late Peter Dickinson, which were demolished to make way for the new twin-towered development.
