Construction on Canderel's Aura at College Park continues to draw attention, as the finishing touches are applied to the towering 78-storey, Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed development on the northwest corner of Yonge and Gerrard Streets. The tower's concrete structure has been topped off for several months now, and the first signs of the tower's steel-framed roof feature began to appear in early-Spring. In the time since, the steel fins have been completed and cladding has now started to rise over the steel supporting structure on the tower's east side.

In the image below, we can see that the building's crown will be clad in the same reflective blue curtain wall glazing as the upper half of the tower. The blue glazing will continue along the fins, terminating with angled panes up top.

As cladding continues to rise over the steel-frame of the roof fins, the building will take on the signature look depicted in renderings. Below, we have included a close up of a market rendering, depicting the east side of the tower's top as viewed from the southeast (as opposed to the northeastern view included in the above photos).

Occupancy has already started, and with the lower floors of the building occupied, it won't be too much longer until all of the building's 985 condominium units are completed and ready for occupancy. In the meantime, additional information, including building facts, renderings and floor plans, can be found in Aura's dataBase file, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion?
