Siamak Hariri and David Pontarini, principals at their eponymous architecture practice, are in Winnipeg today at a convocation ceremony for the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada College of Fellows. By way of a nomination process, the two have both become Fellows which "formally recognizes members and distinguished laypersons who have made outstanding contributions to the profession. Fellowship in the RAIC is an honour conferred on members singled out for their contribution to research, scholarship, public service or professional standing to the good of architecture in Canada, or elsewhere."

UrbanToronto is happy to convey congratulations to the pair whose firm has captured much praise for their body of work. Many Hariri Pontarini projects are being followed by this site, which can be reviewed by clicking on their hyperlinked name.

One current project of theirs which has captured significant attention One Bloor East, a retail podium and 75-storey condo tower being developed by Great Gulf at the corner of Bloor and Yonge Streets. Celebrated Toronto-based architectural photographer Tom Arban recently stopped by the construction site to document the progress, and we are happy to be able to share a couple of images by him here.
