After months of negotiations, the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) has reached an agreement to take 100 per cent ownership of the National Home Show, the Toronto Fall Home Show and the GTA Home Show. Since 2008, BILD and Marketplace Events (MPE) co-owned all three consumer home shows, of which the National Home Show is Canada’s largest and longest-running.

Both co-owning entities were well aware that a single ownership structure would be in the best interest of the home shows, leading to today's announcement. As of May 30, BILD will be the sole owner/operator of all three home shows. MPE will assist with the transition process until the end of the year, after which BILD will oversee all operations.

While today’s announcement is exciting news, it is also a part of a long-term strategy to better position BILD in the marketplace and to continue finding creative ways to engage the public. This acquisition is a major step forward for BILD, to be utilized as yet another bridge between the building industry and the general public. BILD's partnership with MPE has yielded incredible growth over the past several years, and with sole ownership, BILD will now be in a position to continue attracting the hundreds of thousands of show-goers seeking new trends and home re-modeling ideas from the GTA’s top experts.
