A limited collection of suites with rooftop terraces have been released at The Carlaw, Streetcar Developments and Dundee Realty's 12-storey loft-style development now under construction at the northeast corner of Dundas and Carlaw. The TACT Architecture-designed project will add 320 new condominium units to the Leslieville area, including 21 live/work 'urban towns'. Streetcar and Dundee are now highlighting a particular layout, the Seven Haus Design-planned '737' suite, which will include a spacious private terrace on the roof.

Priced from $361,900, the 737 square-foot suite will have two full-size split bedrooms with sliding glass doors, 9-foot exposed concrete ceilings, engineered hardwood flooring, two bathrooms with stone countertops and a large private outdoor space that highlights the clean lines of the condominium’s exterior architecture. The '737' suite's outdoor terrace space will be large enough to accommodate a patio set and lounge chairs, and comes equipped with a gas barbecue line and lighting. Far bigger than the average balcony, the terrace is an outdoor room where you can barbecue, suntan, and host get-togethers while enjoying views of the surrounding city.

Inside, the suite's capacious living/dining area will feature a linear kitchen, provided with ample light from a wall of windows, and with lots of space to play with your furniture placement. Located beside the entry is a combined laundry space and large closet for extra storage room, a rare feature in a world of increasingly smaller suites.

A range of amenities are on offer at The Carlaw, including a 24-hour concierge, a fitness centre, and guest suites for family and friends who stay over, while on the 11th floor, residents will find a south-facing rooftop oasis with a cabana-inspired indoor lounge with a big-screen TV, plus an outdoor terrace and lounge with a sun deck, barbecues and dining tables.

Leslieville has become a mecca for the young and artistically inclined. Home to a growing number of film studios, the area boasts shopping destinations, parks, entertainment, easy access to public transit and some of the city’s best dining options. The Carlaw will further cater to this market as the new home to Crow's Theatre, in a ground-floor 10,000-square-foot community facility with 200-seat auditorium, studio rehearsal space, community programming area, and even a bar and restaurant.

The Carlaw has a mix of one-bedroom, one+ den, two-bedroom and two+den suites ranging in size from 448 to 818 square feet and priced from $236,900. A handful of two-level, two-bedroom urban towns are available in sizes from 975 to 1,215 square feet and staring in price from $499,900.
