Toronto's move to The Avenues is underway. Our walkable main streets, home to shops and restaurants of all kinds, served by transit and surrounded by mature neighbourhoods providing parks, schools, and other services, were identified by the City in last decade as a natural place to add new mid-rise mixed-use residential buildings to Toronto. Bit by bit, developers have been getting the idea that they can offer pretty ideal city living to potential purchasers in these locations, and we've been seeing more—and more interesting—offerings come on stream as of late.

The Rockport Group is one of those companies, and it's ready to open the doors to The Nest, a 9-storey boutique condominium development in the heart of Hillcrest Village on St. Clair Avenue West. A huge variety of cuisines can be found in the restaurants within walking distance here, while a variety of stores offer the day-to-day necessities close by. The St. Clair Streetcar offers quick access to pretty much everywhere through its quick trip east to the subway, (where you will also find the newly-renovated Loblaws Forest Hill Market store), while travelling the streetcar's protected right-of-way to the west will bring you to the huge new Stockyards shopping centre, set to open in a few months' time.

The Nest's highly articulated modern exterior itself offers a street-friendly face to St. Clair Avenue to the north with shops at sidewalk level, and suites with wide pocket balconies above. The south side of the building, meanwhile, is marked by extensive terraces overlooking the surrounding green-canopied neighbourhood. While suites on the upper floors will offer commanding skyline views, closer to ground level, residents will feel connected to the local scene. RAW has designed exactly the sort of building here the City of Toronto imagined when it first sought to bring new life to our main streets.

If the lifestyle appeals and you want to be a part of this, your best opportunity is coming this weekend at The Nest's 'Early Bird' event. You'll need to register online here to get an invite for the best selection of suites. You'll have a chance to learn about the II By IV-designed amenities on offer in the building, and have an opportunity to get to know the neighbourhood a little better.

In the meantime, you can read and see more about The Nest in our dataBase file, linked below. Want to talk about it all? Choose one of our associated Forum thread links, or leave a comment in the space provided on this page.
