Since launching in early September, our new Photographer of the Week feature has highlighted many of the best and brightest photographers who contribute to the UrbanToronto Forum. These selections have included professional photographers, amateurs and hobbyists from across the Greater Toronto Area, all sharing an interest in documenting their ever-changing city. For our final selection of 2013, we have chosen Forum member “Steveve” as UrbanToronto Photographer of the Week.

After taking an interest in photographing buildings, streetscapes, and construction projects, Steveve joined the Forum in 2009 while still in his mid-teens. Now a recent high school graduate, Steveve continues to share his snapshots of construction projects and cityscapes using a Sony T90 point-and-shoot as well as his Sony Xperia T smartphone.

Though he rejects the title of photographer, his photographic updates depicting Toronto’s various construction sites are always appreciated on the Forum.

In addition to his photography of construction sites and cityscapes, Steveve’s interest in Toronto’s transforming skyline led to his creation of a cardboard model of the city a few years back. Scaled at 2.5cm:50m, Steveve’s constantly evolving model is actually his second such creation, and you can track its growth by checking out his dedicated Forum thread, linked here.

If you would like to see more of his photos, you can follow Steveve on Flickr or Tumblr.

Coming in 2014, our Photographer of the Week feature will appear less frequently, becoming “Photographer of the Month”. We will still be watching for the best of what goes up on our Forum of course! Think you've got what it takes? Grab a camera or mobile device and get to work, then post your content in the Forum and you just may find yourself featured in next month’s article!
