You would be forgiven if you thought LINK Condos + Towns was an exciting new development proposed for Toronto. This high density community is nicely designed with an engaging exterior and a well-appointed interior that wouldn't be out of place near High Park or in the Beaches. However, this development is slated for the city of Burlington, and it refreshingly eschews the low density neighbourhoods more typical of the GTA's more suburban areas. Located on the edge of the verdant Bronte Creek Valley, LINK also integrates many aspects of nature into its design.

Adi Development Group—along with Fortress RDI—recognize the benefits of building communities that integrate cohesively into their natural surroundings, and have done so with their newest project LINK Condos + Towns. This intermingling is a priority for the architects at RAW Design, and they have made it prevalent throughout the entire community.

Composed of four buildings arranged in a u-shape around a garden courtyard, LINK Condos + Towns allow the abundant greenery of the adjacent Bronte Creek Valley to pervade into the community from many angles. The composition of the development takes its inspiration from the New York High Line, with various multi-level glass walkways connecting the buildings.

The luxurious suites inside will also feature floor to ceiling glass and balconies that peer out, further allowing nature's permeation into the living space. The landscaped central courtyard—essentially a green roof—features a tranquil parterre garden filled with lush vegetation, plus plenty of lounging and al fresco dining space. And just steps away, a central two-level Recreation Centre with two stunning terraces overlooks the natural ravine.

The incorporation of nature into architecture is often sought after in people-centered development, and RAW Design’s LINK Condos + Towns in Burlington appears to be doing that successfully.
