The changes we recently introduced to UrbanToronto have received some really great positive feedback. Thanks to everyone for sharing your thoughts! We introduced the new features with a big roll-out a few weeks ago and gave a full introduction here. Since then, we're digging a bit deeper into each new feature that's helping to make UrbanToronto an even better experience for our readers. Last week we went into greater detail about the new Development Map. Today, we'll discuss the new and improved dataBase.

While the Map provides a new way of displaying and searching the site, the UrbanToronto dataBase is linked to the map via all the vast stores of information. The dataBase features a whole new landing page that gives lots of options for searching and accessing all this information. It's user-friendly and easy to navigate with quick, easy access to what you're looking for.

UrbanToronto Project dataBase landing page

The UrbanToronto dataBase is divided into two sections: the Project dataBase and the Company dataBase. Today we'll focus on the Project dataBase. It's a veritable encyclopedia of GTA projects, mainly condos, but also some commercial and public buildings. The search function allows you to filter by construction phase: pre-construction, under construction and complete. Furthermore, now you can also filter your search by building type: condo, co-op, house, townhouse, and so on. And lastly, you can filter by developer, if you are only interested in searching for projects by a particular developer.

The dataBase landing page also gives you quick access to each project's related Forum threads — both the Projects & Construction and the Real Estate thread. So, now you can easily click over to the Forum and join the discussion, or read through past discussions to learn more about a project and find out what people are talking about. We encourage you to have some fun, explore the dataBase and find out how it can serve you best. And as always, we welcome your feedback!
