It's challenging to find a quiet place in the downtown core, but UT contributor Jack Landau has managed to make a place that's often bustling look downright zen. The Ryerson Image Centre, lit up in blue, is reflected in Lake Devo, Ryerson's reflecting pond and wintertime skating rink. Boulders and a tree add nature to the reflected mix. The Diamond Schmitt-designed building, part educational facility, part public gallery, oozes quiet sophistication. It's modern, flashy, and subdued all at the same time. This beautiful shot proves that serenity can indeed be found downtown.
