UrbanToronto has made a change to its Forum that has brought major improvements to navigating around the site. Converting some ad space at the top of each thread page into a header that tells you more about the project you are looking at has been the key.
Above, the header from the King Blue Condominiums Projects & Construction thread serves as our example. (Click on it to see it at full size.) The new header at the top of each page allows quick access to all of the renderings and facts and figures about the project—the Project Essentials—contained on our dataBase page: just click on the building image or the project title. Another link will take you quickly to the Real Estate thread for the project if you want to talk about a purchase in the building.
For some of the projects, like this one, more links appear that will take you to the developer's official website, and their official webpage for the project. You can even click on the REQUEST INFO link if you would like to be contacted by the developer. (If you are a developer who would like this feature enabled, contact us!)
The header also provides help when the building's address is not familiar to you: the Google map at right will help you place this project in context.
Not every thread has an associated dataBase entry. If you are reading a thread that does not have an associated dataBase page, you'll see the header shown below: (click on it to see it at full size)
This header also appears at the top of Forum index pages. It gives you quick access to the latest stories on UrbanToronto.ca's news page.
If you haven't looked around the Forum in a while, the navigation improvements makes it a good time to visit again.
