Alterra's current addition to the Islington neighbourhood of Etobicoke is two-thirds of the way to its 6-storey topping out mark. Westwood Condominiums is a low-rise development situated at 8 Fieldway Rd, a residential street southwest of Bloor and Islington. Designed by EI Richmond Architects, the L-shaped building will house 110 one and two bedroom units with floor to ceiling glass.

The quick pace of the construction to date can be attributed to the fact that no excavation was required: the building is being constructed atop a pre-existing, single-storey underground garage that serves people living in the adjacent Network Lofts' 13-storey building, seen in the background of the photo below. Westwood's own 2-storey garage will be located above ground at the back of the building, at the inside elbow of the 'L', its roof covered by a large north and west-facing terrace for residents' use. Recent construction photos show the work on the structure's 5th floor pillars.

Residential units line the south and east perimeter of the amenity terrace, as illustrated in the rendering below, and look beyond the adjacent rail line towards the ripe-for-redevelopment Six Points interchange area.

The building is slated for occupancy in late 2013.
