Update: The exhibition has been rescheduled. The official opening date has been moved to Thursday, September 20th.

An exciting two-part exhibition is set to launch within the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto, showcasing the work of its current and recently-graduate students. Held within the Eric Arthur Gallery located in the faculty's building at 230 College Street, the exhibit entitled “Here Be Monsters: The Map & The Territory” will feature studio and thesis work from the 2011/2012 academic year.

The organization of the exhibit in two parts is meant to reflect the structure of the school's graduate program. The first part, on show from September 20 to October 10, will draw attention to "The Map," a reference to the multi-year exploration of space and complex design issues that all graduate students undertake within the faculty. The exhibit will showcase plans, sections, perspectives, diagrams and models from students across all years, drawing attention to the opportunity these forms of representation provide in (re)visualizing space.

Part two of the exhibition is entitled "The Territory," and will feature some of the more standout thesis projects of the graduating class, on show from October 15 until November 12. These theses vary in focus; some explore complex social events through the medium of architecture, others attempt to alleviate economic depression through constructed landscapes, and a number of them propose new ways of interacting with our ever-changing and often unpredictable environment.

The exhibit is open to the public and free of charge, with access Monday to Friday 9-5 and Saturdays from 12-5. An online PDF of all 71 theses can be found here, while the full event listing can be found here.
