It looks like work has officially begun at Pinnacle International’s 4.7-acre Crystal at Pinnacle Uptown development, located at Hurontario and Eglinton in Mississauga. The multi-phase development of Pinnacle Uptown will occupy 36.5 acres of land just north of Mississauga City Centre. Having already seen success with their first tower, Pinnacle released Crystal 2 last month to warm reception.

The two towers will contain a combined 463 units, and are predicting a completion date of late 2014. In addition to 28,000 square feet of building amenities including a games room, dining room, sports lounge, library and pool, residents will have access to expansive public parklands — 40% of the 36.5 acres, to be exact. When the master planned community of Pinnacle Uptown is finished, it will be home to 2400 residences, served by local retail and easy access to various forms of transportation.

Pinnacle Uptown will be home to both commuters and locals employed in the growing commercial sector of Mississauga. The project is defining itself as an urban-suburban community, a seemingly appropriate way to define Mississauga’s evolving identity within the region.
