Its progress halted by the remarkable evaporation of capital at the outset of the recession, the project has since been resurrected. Developed by Alexandria and with financial assistance from the provincial government, this second phase of the research complex will double the square footage of the MaRS Centre, providing a mix of office and lab space. In addition to the building's contribution to the city's knowledge economy, it is also a significant architectural addition to University Avenue.
